Blackberry is known to provide the best business mobiles with mail integration but this time it has come up with a gadget that’s power packed to entertain you all day long.1GHz Dual Core Processor and the 1GB RAM is a monstrous configuration that ensures you to experience PC like performance in a tablet form. The designers managed to keep the device thin and elegant which has been the specialty of Blackberry. Let’s get over with the specs.

Blackberry Playbook Specs and Features:

Body and Design: The Playbook is very thin and elegant like a Smartphone but bigger in form. It weighs just above 400 Gms(425 Gms) which is considered very less compared to other tablets as the Galaxy Tab weighs way more than 500 Gms and the Ipad2 15 Gms more. The volume rocker key, Play/Pause key, On/Off key are given on the top of the device while the USB,HDMI,3.5mm Jack are on the sides. The tablet measure just 10mm on the sides which is as thin as a mobile. As far as the dimensions are considered the device has 194 x 130 x 10 mm dimensions which mean it’s very comfortable to hold and view long videos back to back. The speakers are well concealed except for the one on the top; they generate crystal clear sounds and loud output.

Operating System and User Interface: The Blackberry Playbook operates on Playbook 2.0 Tablet OS previously the lack of apps was the main con for the device but with 2.0 OS one can even run Android Apps (.apk format) which is seriously the best step taken by the Blackberry Software team. Surprisingly there is no BBM this time either well don’t worry you can bridge your Blackberry mobile with this tab and use BBM services. The UI is fluidic and very simple, the mail integration, the apps, the menus are just picturesque.

Processor and Memory: Under the hood lies the powerful 1GHz Dual Core processor by Texas Instruments gives the computing power of a Laptop. The POWERVR SGX540 GPU is an additional asset in the hardware division which handles functions like decoding 1080p HD videos without breaking sweat, the OS graphics,etc.The 1GB RAM ensures lag free multi-tasking lets say the best multi-tasking experience ever offered by a Tablet. The Tablet comes in 3 variants in the internal memory division 16GB, 32GB, 64GB.No expandable memory though.

Display: The 7”TFT Capacitive touch screen with 170 ppi pixel density gives bright colors with depth and detail. The 600 x 1280 pixels resolution is perfect for viewing 1080p videos. The quality is superior to other peers but the I pad steals an extra point in this category.

Camera and Photography: The makers were cautious in this department too. They took enough care and endowed the tab with 3 MP front camera with HD recording and 5 MP rear camera with Full HD recording as well. The device gives brilliant video quality through the front and rear camera as well. The makers ensured that the buyer experience good video conferencing and Brilliant photography. An LED Flash at the back would have enhanced low light photography but no complaints keeping the price in view.

Bluetooth 2.0 is present which is rarely found in the tablets (absent in I pad).with this you can pair up the device with a Bluetooth mouse or a keyboard and operate it.
